From Experience to Purpose..
There was a period in my life where everything began to collapse into questions. Not abstract ones. Real ones.
Why did things unfold the way they did?
What actually causes suffering?
And more importantly, could it have been prevented?
Living with my brother’s situation forced me to confront these questions directly. Not from theory. From reality.
At the same time, I was working within the education system. Observing behaviour. Patterns. Breakdowns in thinking, regulation, and direction. I began to see something clearly: The problem was not isolated. It was systemic. Children were not being taught how to think. They were not being shown how to regulate themselves. They were not being guided towards clarity, responsibility, or self-direction.
And when those foundations are missing, the outcomes are predictable. Confusion. Reactivity. Dependency. I experienced this firsthand. In a mainstream state-funded Anglican school in West London, I dealt with repeated behavioural challenges often without support or context.
At the time, I was also dealing with personal pressure. Instead of understanding, there was a reaction. Instead of support, there was punishment. During that time, I reached out wherever I could. I wrote to local MPs. I contacted churches. I asked for guidance, for support, for direction. I was searching not casually, but out of urgency.
What I received in return was either silence or shallow responses that did not address the reality of what I was facing. That experience forced me to confront a difficult question: why is meaningful support so often absent when it is most needed? And beyond that — what are these institutions actually designed to do? That was the point where I began to question more deeply, not just individual responses, but the structures themselves.
These moments clarified something for me.
Trying to fix outcomes after the fact is too late. The real work happens earlier.
